Privacy policy

This page explains what we do with personal information when you visit this website or get in touch with us. We have tried to write it in plain English rather than legal boilerplate, because a privacy policy nobody reads protects nobody.

Who we are

Enriching Media Ltd is a video production company registered in England and Wales, company number 8240047. Our registered office is 5 Elstree Gate, Elstree Way, Borehamwood, Hertfordshire WD6 1JD.

We are the data controller for the information described on this page. If you have any question about it, email info@enrichingmedia.co.uk and it will come to Richard.

The short version

We collect very little. We do not sell your data, we do not run advertising trackers, and we do not build profiles of visitors. The only personal information we hold about most people is the email they sent us.

When you get in touch

If you use the contact form on this site, or email us, we receive whatever you choose to send: usually your name, your email address, your organisation and what you would like to talk about. Form enquiries are stored in a database hosted for us by our website platform so we have a record of them, and a copy is emailed to us.

We use it to reply to you, to discuss your project and, if we end up working together, to run that project and keep proper business records.

Our lawful basis is either that the processing is necessary to take steps at your request before entering into a contract, or our legitimate interest in responding to people who contact us about our services. Where a project goes ahead, we also rely on the contract between us.

The contact form only sends when you tick the consent box. You can ask us to delete an enquiry at any time.

We keep enquiry correspondence for up to two years after we last hear from you. If we do work together, we keep records relating to that work for six years after the engagement ends, because tax and company law require it.

When you visit the site

Our hosting platform records basic, aggregated statistics about how the site is used: which pages are viewed, roughly where in the world visitors are, whether they are on a desktop or a phone, and which site they arrived from. We look at this to understand which of our work people are interested in and to make the site better.

This is not used to identify you, to track you across other websites, or to target advertising at you. There is no Google Analytics on this site, no advertising pixels and no social media tracking scripts.

Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in understanding how our own website is used. You can turn this off at any time using the cookie settings link in the footer.

When you play a video

The films on this site are hosted on Vimeo and YouTube. Their players are not loaded until you click to play. Nothing is requested from Vimeo or YouTube, and neither company learns anything about you, unless you choose to load a video.

If you do click play, that video is delivered by Vimeo or by YouTube (part of Google), and at that point they receive your IP address and may set their own cookies in your browser under their own privacy policies, which we do not control. Their policies are at vimeo.com/privacy and policies.google.com/privacy.

Who else sees your information

We use a small number of suppliers who process information on our behalf and only on our instructions: Lovable, which hosts this website and its database, UK2, which provides our email, and Resend, which delivers our enquiry notification emails. We do not share your information with anyone else, we never sell it, and we do not pass it to advertising networks.

Some of these suppliers operate outside the United Kingdom. Where personal information is transferred outside the UK, we rely either on the UK Government's adequacy regulations for that country or on the UK International Data Transfer Agreement, which are the safeguards the law provides for exactly this situation.

Your rights

You have the right to ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, to have it corrected if it is wrong, to have it deleted, to restrict or object to how we use it, and in some cases to have it transferred to someone else. Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time.

Email info@enrichingmedia.co.uk and we will respond within one month. There is no charge.

If you are not happy with how we have handled your information you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113. We would appreciate the chance to put things right first.

Children

This site is aimed at businesses and organisations. We do not knowingly collect information about anyone under 18.

Changes to this policy

If we change how the site works, we will update this page and change the date at the top.
